Some Spooky Fun From a Long Dead Horror Blog

Photo taken at a horror convention circa a Long-Ass Time Ago…

Most of you will not know this but, many years ago, I was a Horror Blogger. No, this was not just a phase the preceded witchcraft as I was a Witch then and am still very much a horror nerd now. The only phase, sadly, was the actual horror blog, TerrorTrove.com, which has long had its traces wiped from the internet. The only remnants are in my twitter account, @AisforAgrimony, which used to be the same account I used for said blog. I do sometimes miss this passion project and I mourn all the hard work that went into it, now mostly lost - but life goes on and I keep the fond memories close to my heart.

So, why am I sharing this here? Because its Halloween!

Yesterday, in between lots of sleep and binging Netflix horror shows, I found myself taking a deep dive into old tweets from my Twitter account and came across a few absolute gems from the old horror blog that I think many of you will get a kick out of. Yes, Halloween was yesterday but to me its a season, not a day, and there is still plenty of time to get your spooky on! So, please enjoy these surviving remnants of spooky fun from a long-dead horror blog.

First up…

These are mock movie poster graphics that a few very talented artists created for the blog after we had an extremely amusing conversation about imaginary horror movies based on the games and toys we used to play with as kids. At the time when these were posted, they gained A LOT of traction and were shared on many other horror sites and blogs - so you may have seen them before. BUT you might not have known that they were originally posted by yours truly. These are the ones I was able to find in old tweets.

1. CABBAGE PATCH KIDS

2. THE GAME OF LIFE

3. TEDDY RUXPIN

4. HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS

5. OPERATION

6. CANDYLAND

7. SKIP IT

8. RAINBOW BRITE

9. GLO WORMS

10. MY PET MONSTER

And second….

These are going to be far less impressive but I was so thrilled to be able to recover 2 of these. One Halloween, I posted 4 original short horror stories to the blog - and 2 of the 4 made it onto the Twitter account. Here they are. Enjoy…

Well that’s all for this Halloween special trip down memory lane. I hope you enjoyed experiencing them for the first time as much as I enjoyed re-discovering them for old-time’s sake.

Happy Halloween Season!
