Who Am I and What Am I doing Here?
I was a practicing witch for roughly 25 years… During that time, I relied on books, internet courses and solitary practice to educate and enrich myself from the comfort of what many refer to as a ‘broom closet’. However, following the pandemic, as well as a cancer diagnosis, I finally decided to look outside of my hermit’s cave and step just a bit out of my comfort zone. At once, an extraordinary community - one that I didn’t even realize I was missing out on - opened up to me.
I attended a truly life-changing and magickal event, Anahata’s Purpose, where I met an amazing group of people, whom I lovingly refer to as my coven — though we don’t exactly check every box some traditional covens may require (hurray for us!). Soon after, I was asked to join a podcast and spent the better part of a year co-hosting The Hearth and Hedge, where I was given the opportunity to let my practice take a front row seat in my life for the first time. My work on that project allowed me to meet even more amazing and inspiring people, expand my practice further and even lead a ritual at the following year’s Anahata’s Purpose event.
The nature of the project, however, eventually left me yearning the for the lone-wolf existence that once ruled over my spiritual quest through this life, making up the rules as I go and having no one and nothing to influence my path, or my pace. Enter A is for Agrimony: Coffee-Stained Notes on Witchcraft. With this passion project, I hope to be of service as I share my knowledge, encourage education and experimentation in the realms of Witchcraft, Herbal Magick and Tarot, discuss important topics within witch & pagan community, record book reviews and blog posts, offer spell and ritual insights and everything else I can think up in the time to come.
As for my lovely and amazing friends - my coven - I speak to them daily and see them whenever possible. We forged important and meaningful friendships over distance and during one of the most difficult periods of my life. Nothing can ever change that. As for the many interesting new acquaintances I’ve come into contact with, they continue to inspirit me as well as my craft. As for the work and my practice though, it is clear that I continue to be very much the solitary witch. However, I still love to share my thoughts, ideas, knowledge and, yes, make new connections… Just, on my own terms.
So, this is that space.
My hope is that you enjoy the exploration that is A Is For Agrimony and find it relatable. My dream is that you find it inspiring.

About My Practice
—
I was raised in the Catholic church but, like with so many of us in the witchcraft and pagan community, I never truly felt like I belonged there. This is not a condemnation of the religion. The teachings simply never rang true in my heart and soul. So, my journey in search of my own spirituality (in secret at first) lead me through a myriad of traditions and practices, such as Wicca - I was a 90s teen after all - Reclaiming, Green Witchcraft, Hedgewitchery and some Folk Practices associated with my cultural background.
In a word, my practice is Eclectic. I’ve held onto principles and beliefs that left a major impression on me early on, but I’ve also shed many in exchange for new meaningful practices and knowledge picked up along the way. I believe that’s the freedom and flexibility that should characterize every witch’s practice — and mine will continue to evolve until I can no longer pick up a book, take a workshop, venture into the woods, step barefoot onto the shore or otherwise explore my curiosity.
Currently, my interests lie in traversing the world of local, land-based spirits where I live and exploring the cultural history and practices of my ancestors. I let a keen interest in Plant Medicine, Tarot, homemade crafts and Crystal/Mineral Magick, as well as my devotion to my Deities, lead my ritual and spellwork - but there are always new paths to explore. They burst into view just a few paces ahead, lit in the darkness by just the spark of curiosity.
Witchcraft is much more mainstream today than when I started out, and the seemingly endless supply of content (books, podcasts, magazines, blogs, vlogs and the like), as well as topics of conversation that have come from this beautiful resurgence continuously inspires my inquisitive nature. My hope is that you enjoy this exploration and find it relatable. My dream is that you find it inspiring.
