Carrying Yourself With Pride: A Magician Spell by Robyn Valentine
Incorporating the energy of the Tarot into my spellwork is something that I started doing when I first began educating myself on the magick and meanings of the cards - many moons ago. These days, most of my spells and rituals feel incomplete without their influence, so when Magickal Tarot by Robyn Valentine was first released, I was very quick to get my hands on a copy.
I absolutely love blending the potent and powerful spirit of the individual cards with my own intention - and if that’s something you’re interested in trying your hand at, I would vehemently recommend this book to help you get started with incorporating major arcana cards into your own spellwork.
In Episode 5: Fortune and Flora - The Magician and the Lily, I take a deep dive into the Magician card and share Valentine’s spell, Carrying Yourself with Pride. Below is a written copy from the episode. Be sure to grab a copy of the book so you can begin to explore a new version of your magick with the help of the Tarot.
Carrying Yourself With Pride: Spell for an Added Boost in Confidence
Lunar Phases: Full moon, waxing moon
Day of the Week: Friday
Astrological Moon Phase: Any fire sign moon
Needed:
Bay Laurel or Black Pepper Essential Oil
a Carrier Oil
the Magician Tarot Card
a Red Candle
Sage or Dragon’s Blood Incense
a Cauldron or Thurible for burning incense
Rose Quartz (a pocketable stone or in a piece of jewelry)
Instructions:
Before beginning, make sure your essential oil is in a carrier oil to avoid harming your skin (especially if using the hotter black pepper oil). The Magician could either be placed on your working altar or propped up with your ritual tools before beginning. Light the candle and incense. Using the oil, anoint the rose quartz while repeating this charm 3 times:
“I hold my head up high;
I have all the tools I need.
Make me happy;
I have all the tools I need.
I am filled with confidence;
I have all the tools I need.
I am my own Magician;
I have all the tools I need.”
After performing your charm, let the incense and candle burn until they are eliminated. Wear or carry the rose quartz with you in all future situations that require a confidence boost. You may cleanse and recharge your rose quartz between encounters, under the appropriate moon (a full moon or a Monday or Friday waxing moon).
